CHOOSE FROM UP TO FIVE APPLICATIONS PER YEAR
Early Spring Application - April-Early May
Maintenance rate balanced fertilizer (25% slow release nitrogen).
Pre-emergent crabgrass and foxtail control. Dandelion and broadleaf weed control.
Late Spring Application - May-June
Medium rate balanced fertilizer (40% slow release nitrogen).
Broadleaf weed control. Pre-emergent crabgrass and spurge control. Sulfate of potash.
Summer Application - July-August
Granular application of non-burning slow release fertilizer with
a high rate of sulfate of potash. Spot treatment of yellow nutsedge and summer annual weeds.
Fall Application - Sept-Oct
Heavy rate balanced fertilizer (25% slow release nitrogen).
Dandelion and broadleaf weed control. Iron.
Late Fall Fertilizing - Late Oct-Nov
(Granular Application) Fertilizing good for deep rooting and
early spring green-up. Heaviest amount of fertilizer applied at this time. This
application is recommended for lawns that are irrigated throughout the season.
OPTIONAL CHOICES
Grub/Billbug/Sod Webworm Control Application
Insecticide applied in late spring or early summer
for season long control of turf damaging insects. If
you take four or five applications,
you will get this application at half price.
Aeration -
Remove cores from soil to allow for better water penetration and
oxygen exchange. Helps reduce compaction and thatch. Should be done annually.
- Our total lawn care program includes 5
applications, Grub/billbug control application and aeration.
Remember, like comparing apples to
oranges, lawn care applications and services are NOT the same. Don't
confuse Mike's Lawn Service with cheap imitations. Mike's Lawn Service
uses quality products. We're different from all the rest.
Other Services Offered
Perimeter Pest Control -
A program of up to three treatments that provide an insect shield
that controls insects from entering your home. We'll spray a 6-8' perimeter around your
home, 2' up the foundation and the roof overhang, if needed.
Drill Seeding and Renovation -
We can drill seed into thin grass areas or bare spots on partial or whole
lawns. Also complete renovation on older lawns. New lawn installation and sodding available.
Landscape Center
Our landscape center has over 3,500 trees, shrubs, and perennials
on hand from mid-April thru November. We have a one year guarantee on all plants. Free
delivery in Storm Lake. We also carry different landscape rocks, mulches, edgers, fabric,
and many other landscape items.
Landscape Weed Control -
Granular application of a pre-emergant herbicide. Prevents weed
growth in shrub beds, perennial areas and rock/mulch areas. We will check areas in June or
July for any weed breakthrough and treat if needed at no cost to you.
Tree Injections -
Injections of trees with insect or disease problems or trees with
nutrient deficiencies. We are also able to spray large evergreen trees for disease
control.
Deep Rootfeeding -
Deep rootfeeding of trees and shrubs with fertilizer and other
nutrients is very beneficial to trees (up to 25') and shrubs when done in late fall.
